The Urban Revitalization Coalition gave away $25,000 to low-income housing residents and other guests during an event Saturday in Cleveland organized by a minority non-profit that supports President Donald Trump.
The event was called the Revitalize America “URC Christmas Extravaganza,” according to a posting by the organization on Facebook.
The money was given away in lots of $300 to $1,000 during a raffle, according to a story by The Plain Dealer. There were also speakers.
But before the raffle there will be remarks from Ja’Ron Smith, a White House official; Pam Ashby, the regional field director of the U.S. Housing and Urban Development office in Cleveland; Kareem Lanier, a Cleveland native who’s co-chairman of the Urban Revitalization Coalition and Cleveland Heights Pastor Darrell Scott.
Founders of the Urban Revitalization Coalition are Dr. Darrell Scott, chairman, and Kareem Lanier, co-chairman, according to the non-profit organization’s website, which says it is “a nonpartisan organization with Bipartisan support. Our mission is to “Revitalize America’s Urban Communities!”
Scott and Lanier are members of the National Diversity Coalition for Trump. According to the organization’s website, it has this mission:
National Diversity Coalition For Trump strongly supports President Donald Trump and his administration. Our group represents the voices of our communities. President Trump’s vision for the United States includes creating opportunities for men, women, and children of all racial, economic, and educational backgrounds. We support the President and his solutions that address economic disparities, foster job creation, support small businesses, preserve faith & family principles, and strengthen communities with conservative action. We will recruit, mobilize, and educate citizens to help us support President Trump and his administration throughout his presidency.
According to the event’s Facebook post, event honorees Saturday were: Ja’Ron Smith, special assistant to the president in the Office of Legislative Affairs; Geraldo Rivera; Basheer Jones, Cleveland city councilman; Pam Ashby, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; Asu “Mookie” Robinson of Diamont Cut Barbershop; and Ellery Smith, a DJ.
