Stephanie Grisham Is Named New White House Press Secretary and Communication Director

Stephanie Grisham is becoming the new White House press secretary and communication director, according to First Lady Melania Trump.

“I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec & Comms Director! She has been with us since 2015 – @potus & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse. #BeBest”

Grisham becomes the fourth women to hold this position after Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced her resignation earlier this month. Also, she replaces Bill Shine who left his position in March.

Sanders showed support for her successor on Twitter.

“@StephGrisham45 will be an incredible asset to the President and the country. I’m sad to leave the WH, but so happy to leave our team in such great hands. Stephanie will do a phenomenal job. Proud to have another mom and a great friend in this role.”

Grisham has served as the Melania Trumps’s spokesperson since 2017 after being a deputy press secretary for Sean Spicer.

The new press secretary has developed a reputation for being a loyal supporter of the Trump family. In a Washington Post profile on Grisham, she earned the nickname “Enforcer” because of the way she defended the First Lady.

Grisham started on Trump’s campaign back in 2015 as a press aide. She focused on her job so that she went five-and-a-half months without seeing her 8-year old son, according to Politico.

Corey Lewandoski, Trump’s former campaign manager, congratulated his former colleague.

“#BREAKING: Melania Trump’s senior aide to replace Sarah Sanders–Stephanie Grisham will be press secretary AND communications director. Great choice by ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩! She has been on the #TrumpTrain since Day 1. Big Congrats!!”

The White House has not made any announcement on whether Grisham will continue the daily briefing, which has not been done in over 100 days.
