Rep. Jim Jordan and Ohio Democrats React to House Speaker Pelosi’s Call for Impeachment Proceedings

Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced late Tuesday she is moving forward with impeachment proceedings against President Donald J. Trump. Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH-04) and Ohio Democrats responded.

Her claim is that a new whistleblower complaint is being kept from the Congress.

“Last Tuesday we observed the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution on September 17th,” Pelosi said. “Sadly on that day, the Intelligence Community Inspector General formally notified the Congress that the administration was forbidding him from turning over a whistleblower complaint. On Constitution Day. This is a violation of law.”

Pelosi continued, “Shortly thereafter press reports began to break of a phone call by the President of the United States calling upon a foreign power to intervene in his election. This is a breach of his Constitutional responsibilities.”

Congressman Jim Jordan responded immediately on twitter and facebook, notifying Ohioans about Pelosi’s plan and clarifying its purpose.

Democrats have been trying to impeach the President since the beginning of this Congress.

Michael Cohen’s testimony was a bust. John Dean’s testimony was a waste of time. The Mueller report did not live up to the hype.

Speaker Pelosi’s decision to pursue impeachment now—on the basis of unsubstantiated, indirect, and anonymous allegations—only shows that the Speaker has finally succumbed to unrelenting pressure from the Socialist wing of the Democrat Party.

This was never about Russian collusion or Ukrainian prosecutions. It is all about undoing the 2016 election and the will of the American people.”

The Ohio Democratic Party tweeted “We believe the American people deserve the truth about our president and his administration. We fully support @TeamPelosi taking the necessary steps to hold the president accountable.”

Hours before Pelosi’s announcement, the President addressed the United Nations. He spoke out strongly against many of the Democratic Party’s major issues including socialism, abortion and open borders.

“Socialism is the wrecker of nations and destroyer of societies…socialism and communism are not about equality, they’re not about lifting up the poor. Socialism and communism are about one thing only – power for the ruling class.”

Trump noted the United States was experiencing record minority unemployment, demanded all countries recognize the rights of people to freely exercise their religion and expressed the need for women and LGBTQ persons to be treated equally and fairly under the law in every country across the world.

He savaged Venezuela’s Maduro and Maduro’s “puppet masters” in Cuba, while expressing American support for the Venezuela people. And he put both China and Iran on notice that trade will be fair and rogue regimes will not have nuclear weapons.

Following the breaking news of impeachment proceedings, Trump called it, “PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!”

President Trump also announced a transcript of the call that is the basis for Pelosi’s impeachment plan will be released.
