Central Ohio Trump Supporters Gather to Make Rally Signs for Democratic Presidential Debate

DELAWARE, Ohio – MAGA meetups popped up around central Ohio Monday night as supporters of President Donald Trump gathered to make signs for the protest rally and talk about all things Trump the night before the Democratic Presidential Candidates converge on Westerville’s Otterbein Campus.

Don Rankey, a Delaware County Republican Central Committeeman, hosted an event at the GOP Victory Center in downtown Delaware.

“I’m just very excited about getting the campaign started,” Rankey told The Ohio Star. “There’s a lot of enthusiasm in Delaware County for the President.”

A few miles to the south, another group gathered at the home of Eileen Watts in Powell.

Watts, an activist for Ohio Women for Trump since 2016, said, “We had over 70 in attendance and have made dozens of signs. Joy Padgett, who led Ohio Women for Trump, and Ashley Hayek, Executive Director of Women for Trump nationally, spoke to our team.”

The Trump Campaign sent Clayton Henson, Regional Political Director and Steve Buckingham, the Ohio State Director for 2020, who also wound up the troops.

One of Ohio’s most famous #WalkAway families, the Jacksons, were busy making signs and sharing Trump stories. They even brought food to share from their business, The Good Frank. The all-beef frankfurters were a hit, but the favorite was “The 45 Steak Frank” named after the Jackson family’s favorite President.

“It was great to see so many people coming together to ensure that our government actually represents us and our concerns. I’m excited to work with these guys and to help get Trump re-elected!” Tyrone Jackson shared.

Another large group gathered at Don Roberts Law Office in Hilliard. Many of the speakers drove from Watts’ Powell home to Roberts’ business to energize and encourage everyone. The Westerville Tea Party hosted an event as well.

Down in Columbus, at The Ohio State University, College Republicans were busy making signs at their MAGA meetup.

“It’s going to be a busy day for Trump supporters in Ohio tomorrow,” Watts mentioned to The Ohio Star at the end of the evening. “At noon, Powell is hosting Empower Hour with RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Kayleigh McEnany, Trump Campaign Press Secretary. After that, folks are headed to Westerville to show America that in spite of the Democrats filling the Otterbein Rike Center, this is Trump Country.”
