Gov. DeWine Signs Five Ohio Legislative Acts into Law

 

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine held a video conference ceremony on Wednesday where he signed five Ohio legislative acts into law.

Senate Bill 263 –sponsored Senator Bob D. Hackett (R-District 7) the law will “prohibit a pharmacy benefit manager from taking certain actions with respect to reimbursements made to health care providers that participate in the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program.” SB263 passed the House 77-6 and the Senate 33-0.

House Bill 7 – sponsored by Representative Haraz N. Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) and former Representative John Patterson (D-Jefferson) – who termed out at the end of 2020 – the law will “create the Statewide Watershed Planning and Management Program under the administration of the Director of Agriculture, to make changes to the law governing regional water and sewer districts, and to modify the CAUV eligibility requirements for land used to produce biofuels.”  HB7 passed the House 86-3 and the Senate 33-0.

House Bill 32 – sponsored by Representative Dick Stein (R-Norwalk), the law will “create a suggested ceremonial procedure for retiring an Ohio state flag and to designate March as “Cardiac Amyloidosis Recognition Month,” April 26 as “Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Day,” September as “Hirschsprung’s Disease Awareness Month,” and November 16 as “Sanfilippo Syndrome Awareness Day.”  HB32 passed the House 82-0 and the Senate 31-0.

House Bill 33 – sponsored by Laura Lanese (R-Grove City) and Sara Carruthers (R-Hamilton), the law “establish[es] animal abuse reporting requirements.” HB33 passed the House 90-2 and the Senate 32-0.

House Bill 231 – sponsored by former Representative Dave Greenspan (R-Westlake) – who lost in the 2020 general election to Monique Smith (D-Fairview Park) – the law will “require the Department of Education to notify public and private schools of free and reduced cost epinephrine autoinjector programs, to enact the “Allison Rose Act” with regard to food allergy training for public schools, and to permit schools and camps to procure and use glucagon in certain circumstances.”  HB231 passed the House 95-1 and the Senate 32-0.
