Democrats Run Candidate for Ohio Secretary of State Backed By Soros-Obama-Clinton Political Machine

Secretary of State candidates

George Soros’s infamous Secretary of State Project may no longer be functioning, but it remains the worst-kept secret in Washington that the Soros-Obama-Clinton political machine is trying to get far-left activist Democrats elected to positions that oversee the elections process in key battleground states.

Ohio is one of a handful of states on their target.

Enter Kathleen Clyde, 39, of Ravenna, Ohio. She fits the mold of a Soros-Obama-Clinton-backed secretary of state to a tee – an activist lawyer with street cred in everything from abortion rights and gun control to open borders and a desire to “expand the franchise” of voting rights to those on the outer fringes of eligibility.

The last time Ohio elected a Democratic Secretary of State, her name was Jennifer Brunner, who was helped in her 2006 campaign by the Soros-funded Secretary of State Project.

Now that the SOSP is defunct, liberal money-machines behind the Clintons and Obamas have created a new entity called Let America Vote, which provides many of the same services as the old SOSP.

Clyde lists Let America Vote as one of her “allied groups” on the endorsements page of her campaign website.

Let America Vote’s mission is to fight voter ID laws and lobby in favor of laws that make it easier for low-information voters, including immigrants, criminals and other reliably Democrat voters to register and vote without providing any documentation of their eligibility. They will also work to help get secretaries of state elected who will turn a blind eye to voter fraud.

Among the priorities Clyde lists on her website that she would work for as Ohio’s next Secretary of State, are the following:

  • Eliminate purges of voters who have not voted in six years, a practice that bipartisan boards of elections frequently use to clean up voter rolls.
  • Extend early voting days and hours beyond the current four weeks.
  • Promote automatic online voter registration when Ohioans “do everyday things,” such as turn 18 years of age, use a welfare office, apply for disability insurance, register for college classes, or obtain a driver’s license.

In an election where most voters will be concentrating on congressional races and who will be Ohio’s next governor, operatives for Soros, Clinton and Obama hope enough conservative Ohioans will sleep through the secretary of state’s race, pitting Clyde, a member of the State House against Republican State Sen. Frank LaRose in the Nov. 6 election.

While often overlooked, the secretary of state’s office is of enormous importance. That’s because decisions made there can tip a close election one way or the other.

For example, a Soros-backed Secretary of State in Minnesota, Mark Ritchie, was credited with winning the razor-close election of Al Franken over Norm Coleman to the U.S. Senate in 2008. Franken cast a deciding vote in favor of Obamacare.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune political writer Katherine Kersten described Ritchie’s role in Franken’s election as follows:

Let’s assume the 32 disputed ballots in Minneapolis were legitimate. Let’s assume the newly discovered 100 votes in Pine County — all for Al Franken — were just overlooked by a sleepy official, and the 100 votes found in Mountain Iron — again, all for Franken — were valid.

Let’s suppose the trickle of votes moving inexorably in Franken’s direction is just a function of a normal process, as Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office assures us.

One fact remains troubling. The referee in Minnesota’s hotly contested Senate race must act in a nonpartisan fashion, yet Ritchie came to office through a nationwide partisan strategy. He was elected in 2006 as part of a national campaign to ensure that Democrats could wield influence in precisely the sort of hair’s breadth race we now have here.

Ritchie gained office with the help of the Secretary of State Project (SOS), an independent 527 group co-founded by former MoveOn.org leader James Rucker. SOS is based in San Francisco, and is funded in part by ultra-liberal kingmakers such as George Soros.”

Why would Left-Coast liberals take such a keen interest in a Minnesota or Ohio state office?

In 2006, USA Today answered that question in an article headlined “Top vote counter becomes prize job; Democrats focus on key state post.”

So this is the same reason Clyde is expected to attract donations from liberal donors nationwide. They are already starting to pour in. In July Hillary Clinton’s political organization, Onward Together, donated the maximum $5,000 to secretary of state candidates in four battleground states – one of them was Clyde in Ohio.

Clinton donated to secretaries of state, said an official with her PAC, because she believes they play “a vital role in many issues, especially voting rights.”

As of June 30, Clyde raised $343,717 for her secretary of state’s race. She has been endorsed by former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, although she doesn’t mention the unpopular Clinton on her website.

Clyde supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, personally donating $1,000 to Clinton’s war chest.

She donated $2,000 to the presidential campaign of former Sen. John Kerry in 2004 and $425 to the Democratic Party of Ohio in 2016.

Her status in the abortion industry is impeccable, having earned endorsements from NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, and pro-abortion Emily’s List.

Ohio MATRIOTS, the anti-gun rights organization that participated in the anti-Trump Women’s March on Washington, has also endorsed Clyde.

According to 3rd Rail Politics, Clyde sponsored legislation in State House that would have changed Ohio’s Congressional Redistricting and added automatic and online voter registration. Clyde was also a strong advocate of “Golden Week” the 2005 era policy that brought same-day voter registration and voting for one week, later repealed.
