Jim Renacci Criticizes Sherrod Brown’s Opposition to SCOTUS Nomination of Kavanaugh

Ohio Republicans’ U.S. Senate hopeful and current congress member Jim Renacci (R-OH-16) took aim at the Democrats’ partisan theater, and singled out incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in particular for his performance at the time and expense of the American people during this week’s Confirmation Hearings of President Trump’s second Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

In a Thursday morning conference call with the media, Breitbart News reported Renacci spoke highly of Kavanaugh, saying that he was “highly qualified for the Supreme Court and should be confirmed by the full Senate,” and added during his dozen years of service on the U.S. District Court of Appeals, 13 of his 300 decisions have been upheald by the high court.

Via Brietbart:

“In a recent poll of Ohioans, 56 percent believe he should be confirmed,” Renacci pointed out.

But the Democrats in the Senate, including Brown, his November opponent, have engaged in unprecedented obstructionism to oppose the nomination.

“Every one of the Democrats on the panel [the Senate Judiciary Committee holding the hearings] have already decided they are going to vote no. They interrupted the hearings 76 times,” Renacci noted.

“It’s something the people of Ohio are fed up with. The people of Ohio are saying enough with the theatrics!” he added.

Renacci noted that Brown announced his opposition to Kavanaugh’s nomination even before the Judiciary Committee hearings began on Tuesday.

(emphasis added)

Despite near constant interruptions by activists in the hearing room, the committee will once again meet Friday to continue their vetting of Judge Kavanaugh.
