The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund, or NRA-PVF, has endorsed Ohio Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH-16) for the U.S. Senate in Ohio.
Renacci is running against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), an entrenched Washington politician running for his third term who is swimming in anti-gun campaign cash. Brown, 65, has been in Washington for 25 years and has nothing to show for it on the Second Amendment, said Chris Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF.
Renacci, on the other hand, is solid.
“Jim Renacci has been an unwavering supporter of our Second Amendment freedoms,” said Cox. “Law-abiding gun owners can trust Jim Renacci to fight for their freedoms in the U.S. Senate.”
Renacci, an accountant and former businessman, has a strong pro-Second Amendment voting record. He voted for the strongest concealed carry reciprocity legislation ever to come before the U.S. Congress. In addition, Renacci opposes any attempt to ban guns, ammunition, magazines or to criminalize private firearm sales. He also voted to strike down an Obama-era regulation that would have stripped social security recipients of their Second-Amendment rights without due process.
Brown is rated an “F” by the NRA. He voted for anti-gun Supreme Court justices, voted against a pro-Second Amendment Supreme Court justice in Neil Gorsuch, voted against national concealed-carry reciprocity, and voted for a ban on commonly owned rifles and ammunition.
Brown is supported by radical groups backed by billionaire elitist and anti-gun fanatic Michael Bloomberg, who believes every shooting is the fault of a gun, not the criminal who pulled the trigger or the criminal subculture that has been allowed to flourish in so many American cities under Democrat leadership.
In fact, Brown is second among all U.S. senators in the amount of campaign contributions received from the anti-gun lobby. In the 2018 election cycle, Brown has already accepted $157,689 from groups pushing for more gun control, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics at OpenSecrets.org. Only Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) has taken in more from anti-Second Amendment lobbyists, at $177,247.
“Jim Renacci is a proven friend of law-abiding gun owners. We urge all Second Amendment supporters in Ohio to vote Jim Renacci for U.S. Senate in November,” Cox said.
