Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH-13) released an album on Spotify this week called “A New and Better Agenda” to promote his 2020 presidential campaign.
“I dropped an album. Really. Listen to my #NewAndBetter Agenda on Spotify,” Ryan wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

“TFW you’re trying to get on the next Panini remix—or even get Lil Nas to jump on a remix of ‘Climate Change,’” Ryan later wrote on Twitter along with a picture of him talking on the phone.

Ryan even tried his hand at writing his own rap, which he also posted on Twitter.
“Hey Panini, Don’t you be a meanie. Let’s regenerate our farms and bring jobs back to our cities,” Ryan said.

The album itself consists of various soundbites of Ryan discussing his policy positions on topics like education, climate change, and healthcare.
Trevor Noah and The Daily Show mocked the policy album during an episode this week, though Ryan thanked Noah for the shout out.
“I mean, it might be a good way to connect with voters, but it’s going to mess up somebody’s date night. Yeah, because what if shuffle is on your Spotify. You have somebody over, you’re trying to set a romantic mood,” Noah joked.
Thanks for the shout out @trevornoah!
I have some #NewAndBetter remix ideas for “College Affordability” I think @iamcardib may want to collab on since I'm apparently her opening act now… pic.twitter.com/CdTdcO25E5

Ryan failed to qualify for Thursday night’s debate in Houston, but hasn’t dropped out of the race. The Democratic National Committee recently announced that its October debate will take place in Ohio, though Ryan isn’t on track to qualify, as The Ohio Star reported.
Earlier this week, Ryan went after frontrunner Joe Biden for lacking “clarity,” saying the former vice president is “declining.” He refused to back down from the claims after facing questions from reporters.
While his fellow candidates debated, Ryan continued to promote his new policy album on Twitter.
“You may hear some interesting ideas coming from Houston tonight. But if you’re looking for plans that are more than 30-second soundbites, then check out The Daily Show-mentioned (policy) album of the year,” he said.
