Trump and Pence Celebrate America’s ‘Wins’ at Cincinnati Rally

CINCINNATI, Ohio — President Donald Trump spoke to a packed crowd of thousands of enthusiastic supporters Thursday night in downtown Cincinnati at the U.S. Bank Arena.

As of noon Thursday, thousands were already waiting in line to see the president speak at 7 p.m., and The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that people were lining up as early as 6 a.m.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Ohio Republican Party Chairwoman Jane Timken spoke to supporters who were already shuffling into the stadium, which has a capacity of 17,000 and was expected to be full. She urged the Ohioans in the arena to reelect conservative justices to the Ohio Supreme Court.

Brandon Straka, founder of the popular Walk Away Campaign, also addressed supporters early on in the event.

“Their job is to create hatred and mistrust toward President Trump and his supporters,” Straka said of the mainstream media, calling them a “propaganda arm for the Democratic Party.”

“Let’s form a network of support, let’s all walk away from the Democratic Party together,” he said of his campaign that encourages people to leave the Democratic Party, saying “fear” prevents people from abandoning liberalism.

He said he will not stop fighting for minorities to help them walk away from the “group think and victim mentality of the left.”

“This is not a president who panders to minorities because he needs them; this is a president who serves minorities because he loves them,” said Straka, who is gay.

Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) followed Straka and told the crowd that Ohio is “Trump country” and will remain so in 2020.

“Donald Trump was the undisputed winner,” Obhof said of the recent Democratic debates.

Speakers continued to take to the podium to warm up the crowd before Trump’s appearance, including Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr., and more.

“I got a question for you, Ohio. Is anyone sick of all of the winning? Not even a little, right?” Trump Jr. said. He called Robert Mueller’s recent testimony on Capitol Hill the “Mueller debacle,” saying his investigation was a “sham” and “embarrassing.”

Governor Mike DeWine sang the President’s praises then introduced Vice President Mike Pence.

The VP called President Trump the “real deal” and spoke about all the victories he’d won on behalf of the American people. “Now it’s our turn to fight for him,” Pence told the audience, “And take our case to every American all the way to victory on November 5th, 2020!”

Immediately Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA began playing and the crowd began cheering. It built to a crescendo when the President stepped out.

“Hello Cincinnati!” announced Trump, to which the thousands loudly responded back. “It’s great to be back in this state. This state is very special…the hard working patriots of the American heartland – thank you Ohio, I love you Ohio.”

In true Trump fashion, he extolled the many “wins” America and Ohio have experienced over the last two and a half years.

“More than 7 million Americans have been lifted off of food stands and they are happy,” Trump stated. “123,000 more Ohio workers are employed today than they were before I was elected. And now Ohio is the most successful it’s ever been in history.”

There were a few interruptions, twice when protesters interrupted and were quickly ushered out, once when the President stopped his speech to ask for medical help for an ill guest.

He talked about, “The four left wing extremists that reject everything we hold dear,” and added, “No one has paid a higher price for the democrats than the American in the inner cities. It’s stolen money, it’s wasted money, it’s a shame,” he lamented as he talked about how the residents of America’s inner cities have suffered under one party rule.

That’s when the first protester got rowdy, and President Trump asked if Cincinnati had a democrat mayor. The crowd booed in response, acknowledging that yes, they do. “Well, that’s what happens,” Trump added, motioning to the leftists being escorted out.

Trump ended the night with thousands chanting with him, “We’re making America wealthy again. We’re making America strong again. We’re making America safe again. We’re making American great again. And with your vote in 202, we will keep America great!”

After the event, a group of Cincinnati residents met at a local eatery and spoke to The Ohio Star.

Paul and Pam Rybolt are both Trump fans.

“I like that he’s not a politician,” Paul said.

Pam added, “I like that he’s trying to clean out the swamp.”

It was their friend Marya Stadler’s birthday, and she couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate it. “I love him. He’s amazing,” she said about the President. “My dad was a veteran. He would have loved this.”
