Ohio Democrat Auditor Candidate Zack Space Racks Up Big Dollars From Billionaire Impeachment Advocate Tom Steyer

According to Politico, billionaire, left wing climate activist Tom Steyer plans to spend at least $110 million in the 2018 elections to elect Democrats.  Their goal?  Vote to impeach President Donald Trump.  Until recently, most of this money was expected to be spent on congressional candidates and governors’ races.  But now The Ohio Star can report that Steyer is investing in down ballot races here in Ohio too.  And this includes Ohio Democrat Auditor candidate Zack Space.

On August 30, 2018 Steyer donated the maximum $12,707.00 each to Ohio Democrat Auditor candidate Zack Space and Secretary of State candidate Kathleen Clyde for the general election. His wife, Kathryn Taylor Steyer, also made donations of $12,707.00 to each of these candidates. Together so far this cycle, they have made total donations of $88,935.00 directly to Ohio Democrat candidates. They have no history of ever making donations to Ohio candidates previously.

Tom Steyer and his primary political organization, NextGen America, are also working in Ohio with a labor coalition called For Our Future Ohio. For Our Future Ohio currently has 14 paid grassroots jobs for which they are advertising.

On August 16, 2018, For Our Future transferred $132,947.33 to another Ohio organization called Conservation Ohio.

This was in addition to a contribution made on June 19,2018 from For Our Future to Conservation Ohio in the amount of $180,223.81.  Added up those two donations total $313,171.14.  Conservation Ohio, which is also a Super PAC, raised another $57,000 from the Ohio Environmental Council Action Fund.  Much of this money is being used to pay for door to door canvassing operations for both state and federal Democrat candidates.

All of these out of state political donations have had an impact on Ohio down ballot races.

According to 3rd Rail Politics, down ballot statewide Democrat candidates currently hold a fundraising advantage over Republicans. Other than in the state auditor’s contest, Democrat candidates currently have more cash on hand than do their Republican opponents.
