Center for Christian Virtue Purchases Former Columbus Dispatch Facility

Ohio’s largest Christian public policy organization purchased the former Columbus Dispatch newspaper facility to expand its efforts to advocate for and protect children and families across the state.

The press release details that the Center for Christian Virtue (CCV) purchased the 30,000-square-foot, five-story building on Broad Street through an affiliated organization Gannett News, which owns The Columbus Dispatch, for $1.1 million.

According to the President of the Center for Christian Virtue, Aaron Baer, the new building will house the Center for Christian Virtue’s expanding team as the company intensifies its efforts to make Ohio the nation’s safest state for children, both born and unborn, and the best location to raise a family.

Baer noted that the new location, directly across from the Ohio Statehouse, will allow the organization to cover the state’s lawmakers with prayer and provide influence during the state and nation’s many challenges it’s facing.

“Our state and nation are facing many difficult challenges. We need the truth of the Gospel to light the way forward for our leaders. From our new location across from the historic Ohio Statehouse, CCV intends to cover our leaders with prayer and to influence our representatives to do the right thing for the good of our neighbors, our city, and our state,” Baer said.

The new facility is to house many of the Center for Christian Virtue’s growing initiatives, including:

  • The Ohio Christian Education Network, a network of more than 170 Catholic and Evangelical schools in Ohio that fights to guarantee that every kid has access to a Christian education both financially and geographically.
  • The Christian Business Partnership, Ohio’s sole Christian Chamber of Commerce actively defends Christian employers’ right to freedom of religion and a just and open economy that fosters entrepreneurship.
  • And the Church Ambassador Network, a network of more than 2,200 churches dedicated to Biblical civic engagement.

According to Baer, this new facility will be a beacon of Good News for the state and nation.

“Since our state’s founding, Christians have come together to be a source of light and hope for a hurting world. CCV will be better equipped to rise to meet the needs of the day because of our new home,” Baer said.

The new facility is located at 62 East Broad Street and sits directly next to another Center for Christian Virtue property located at 60 East Broad Street. According to the press release, the organization currently plans to list 60 East Broad Street for sale and anticipates moving operations into its new building before the end of August.

The Ohio Star contacted the Center for Christian Virtue for additional comment but did not receive a reply before press time.
