March for Life and Center for Christian Virtue Announce Speakers for Ohio March Next Month

The March for Life, in partnership with the Center for Christian Virtue (CCV), announced on Thursday the speakers for the second official Ohio March for Life next month.

As previously reported by The Ohio Star these organizations decided to team up once again to organize another march in Columbus following the tremendous success of the first Ohio March for Life last year.

The March for Life, held in Washington D.C., is an annual event that attracts crowds of marchers from across the U.S. who gather together to act as a voice for the pre-born. Ohio March for Life told The Star that it endeavors to harness that same passion in Ohio at the 2023 march in October.

The event on October 6th, will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Ohio State Capitol Square, facing South High Street. The Capitol building is at 1 Capitol Sq., Columbus, OH.

A pre-rally concert by Damascus Worship will kick off the event and be followed at 11:00 a.m. by a rally. Among the numerous pro-life speakers scheduled to attend are President of March for Life Jeanne Mancini, CCV President Aaron Baer, Most Reverend Bishop Earl Fernandes Diocese of Columbus, State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson), pastor Jeremy Westbrook, Ohio Right to Life CEO Peter Range, Ohio Right to Life Action pastor Walter Moss, and CCV Director of Christian Engagement Ruth Edmonds. The march will go from 12:00 p.m to 1:00 p.m.

According to March for Life, the event speakers will educate marchers on the upcoming radical abortion amendment in November and the need for pro-life protections in Ohio.

This proposed amendment would add Section 22 to Article 1 of the state Constitution. The proposal would remove Ohio’s parental notification legislation when a minor wants an abortion and the requirement that abortionists adhere to fundamental hospital health and safety standards. The proposal also aims to permit abortions far after babies have heartbeats and can feel pain.

“Marchers will gather at the State Capitol building to peacefully advocate for pro-life protections for women and the unborn just as an extreme abortion amendment comes up for a vote this fall. Speakers and advocates will educate attendees on the dangers of the proposed amendment which would bring painful late-term abortions right up until birth to Ohio, cancel parental consent protections for minors, and erase basic health and safety standards for women when it comes to abortion,” the March for Life said in a press release sent to The Star.

According to Mancini, it is critical for Ohioans to attend the march next month to advocate against this extreme abortion amendment on the November ballot.

“This year’s Ohio March for Life is the most significant the state has seen yet. Just one month after this March, Ohioans will be voting on an abortion-lobby-led constitutional amendment which, if approved, would open the door to abortion up until the moment of birth in Ohio. Together with the Center for Christian Virtue, we are ready to welcome thousands of Ohioans to the State Capitol in this critical moment to peacefully advocate both against this extreme measure and for state laws that respect the human dignity of every person, born and unborn,” Mancini said in the press release.

Baer agrees that Ohio’s 2023 March for Life is an important opportunity to advocate for the unborn before the November election.

“Ohio’s second annual March for Life comes at a crucial time in the state. On November 7th, roughly one month after the March, citizens will vote on an extreme ballot proposal that would lock abortion up to birth without parental consent into the Ohio Constitution. The Ohio March for Life is an opportunity to gather at the Ohio Statehouse and unite our voices in support of the dignity and personhood of the unborn. CCV is excited to be a partner in the March for Life again this year to show that Ohio is a pro-life state,” Baer said in the press release.

March for Life encourages participants to bring their own hand-held signs to the event. Signs on sticks are against Ohio Capitol regulations and will not be permitted on the premises. This free public event is open to all pro-life supporters, and registration is not required. Options for parking around the Ohio Statehouse can be found at ohiostatehouse.org.

The Ohio March for Life is encouraging event participants to contact their legislators before the march and set up a time to meet with them following the March and Rally to make their voices heard that Ohio wants an end to abortion.

“Together we march to end abortion, and we will,” Mancini told The Star.
