Fauci: Pandemic Overrides Personal Freedoms, Mandatory Vaccines Are Necessary

by Eric Lendrum

In an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday, Anthony Fauci said that defeating the coronavirus is more important than Americans’ personal freedoms, and that every American should be forced to get a vaccine, the Daily Caller reports.

When asked by host Willie Geist, Fauci said that he supports vaccine mandates for teachers and all levels of schools, including colleges and universities, referring to the India Variant, also known as the “Delta Variant,” as a “major surge” that has led to a “critical” situation.

“We are in a major surge now as we’re going into the fall, into the school season,” Fauci said without providing any evidence.  “This is very serious business. You would wish that people would see why it’s so important to get vaccinated.”

Fauci then acknowledged that vaccine mandates are unlikely to come “centrally from the federal government,” but are more likely to emerge at the local level “for schools, for teachers, for universities, for colleges.”

“I know people must like to have their individual freedom and not be told to do something,” he continued. “But I think we’re in such a serious situation now that under certain circumstances, mandates must be done.”

Fauci, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and other medical authorities have been widely criticized in recent months for flip-flopping on the subjects of masks, vaccines, and other restrictions related to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic. The CDC recently reversed its guidance on masks, ordering everyone to resume wearing masks even if they have already been vaccinated, as well as ordering all students in K-12 schools to wear masks.

The vaccines themselves have come under scrutiny for apparently being useless against the spread of the virus, as there have been over 10,000 confirmed cases of “breakthrough infections,” where vaccinated individuals still caught the virus. Some areas of the country, including New York City, have begun implementing “vaccine passports,” where individuals have to show proof of vaccination in order to enter businesses such as restaurants, leading to accusations of unconstitutional violations of personal liberty.

Oh my goodness. This is such biased reporting. Stop lying to people. The vaccine does help stop the spread of Covid, but it isn’t perfect, no vaccine is, so certain vaccinated people may be compromised and still have breakthrough cases. That is a long ways from the commen”the vaccines are apparently useless against the spread of the virus.” You do not and have never had the right to make other people ill. If you are refusing the vaccine or to let your children mask, you should stay at home snd home school your kids. You should not be able to compromise the health of others. The Supreme Court of the US has NEVER ruled that private desires supersede publicly safety. Nope, not once. That includes very conservative justices. Don’t want to wear a mask? Stay home,. Your risk, your choice. By the way, the Constitution begins with “We the People” and not ‘Me, Myself and I.” Vaccines have been required for years and doctors and nurses have been wearing masks for years and years. Their brains work better than most.
