Ohio Governor DeWine Appoints Attorney Chris Berhalter to the Belmont County Court of Common Pleas

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the appointment of Republican attorney Chris Berhalter to the Belmont County Court of Common Pleas General and Domestic Relations Division serving the community of Belmont County.

Judge-designee Berhalter (pictured above), of Martins Ferry, has served as Belmont County Court Judge Northern Division since 2014. Before that, he began his law career in 1996 at Sommer, Librati, & Berhalter. He became a partner in the firm in 2000. Voters then elected him as Belmont County Prosecuting Attorney, where he served for 10 years.

The Ohio State Bar Association has awarded Republican Ohio Supreme Court Justice Patrick Fischer with its highest honor the Ohio Bar Medal.

Ohio Governor Appoints Prosecuting Attorney Jason Given to the Coshocton County Court of Common Pleas

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced the appointment of Republican Prosecuting Attorney Jason Given to the Coshocton County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile and Probate Division.

Given, of Coshocton, Ohio will be taking the seat held by Judge Van Blanchard who is retiring form the bench after being appointed in November 2011 upon the death of Judge David Burns. In order to retain the seat, Given must win the general election in November 2024. Given will assume office on May 1st, 2023.

Ohio Governor Appoints Civil Attorney Jeffrey Ruple to Lake County Court of Common Pleas

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced this week the appointment of Republican civil litigator Jeffrey Ruple to the general division of the Lake County Court of Common Pleas.

Ruple, of Kirtland, Ohio will be taking the seat formerly held by Republican Judge Eugene Lucci. In order to retain the seat he must win the general election in November 2024. Lucci was elected to the Eleventh District Court of Appeals leaving his seat on the Lake County Court of Common Pleas vacant. Judge-designee Rupe will assume office on April 24th.
