Ohio-Based ‘We the People Convention’ Endorses Donald Trump for President

We the People Convention (WTPC), an Ohio-based nonprofit that advocates for limited constitutional governance, endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election this week.

WTPC’s endorsement of Trump came one day after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of his presidential campaign and endorsement of Trump in the race moving forward.

“With President Trump’s historic win in Iowa and Ron DeSantis, the only other legitimate opponent dropping out, it is time for ALL conservatives and ALL Republicans and ALL Americans to come together and support President Trump and the other down ticket candidates we need to elect this year to save our nation, and Western Civilization, from the global marxists and their anti-human agenda,” WTPC President Tom Zawistowski said in a statement. “It is with great pride that the We the People Convention once again Endorses President Trump after playing a critical role in winning Ohio for Trump in 2016 and 2020.

“Our organization will commit everything we have to re-elect Donald J. Trump [as] President and to give him the control of the House and Senate he will need to restore the rule of law and our Constitutional Republic once he is in office,” Zawistowski added.

Zawistowski further called on former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to suspend her campaign and endorse Trump following her third-place finish in Iowa, saying such a move would allow Republicans to “focus their efforts on electing US House and US Senate Candidates and other down ticket candidates at the state level in 2024.”

In the Buckeye State, WTPC has endorsed businessman Bernie Moreno for U.S. Senate.

Moreno, along with primary GOP challengers State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, are vying to unseat incumbent Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

“Bernie Moreno is without doubt the most conservative of the three candidates running in the U.S. Senate race in Ohio…He knows that with the right policies we can Make America Great Again (MAGA) and is committed to the America First Agenda,” WTPC’s Zawistowski said in a previous statement.

Ohio’s primary election will take place on March 19. Voter registration ends on February 20, with early voting beginning on February 21. The last day to request an absentee ballot is March 12.
