Ohio Republican Calls on State Colleges to Resist Any Potential COVID Mandates

Ohio Republican businessman and candidate for U.S. Senate Bernie Moreno called on Ohio colleges, universities, and businesses to resist any effort by the federal government to reinstate any COVID-19-related mandates.

This follows movie studio Lionsgate in Santa Monica, Rutgers University in New Jersey, Georgetown University in Washington DC, and Morris Brown College in Atlanta announcing they are reinstating mask mandates due to reported COVID-19 cases.

According to Moreno (pictured above), he has read reports that the Biden administration, along with these universities and companies, are not only bringing back mask mandates but are trying to force their students and employees to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

“I’m reading reports that the Biden administration, many colleges, universities, and hospitals in New York are bringing these mask mandates back and are trying to force students and employees to get vaccinated. It’s been almost 3.5 years since China unleashed COVID on the world. It’s been almost 3.5 years since we saw the beginning of the tyrannical reign of politicians who wanted to control us with mask mandates, COVID mandates, vaccine mandates, and passports. These were things that we thought we left in the past but here we go again,” Moreno said.

Moreno said that these mandates directly contradict American freedom and liberty, and Ohioans need to show their elected officials that they will not comply with these mandates again.

“I am calling on Ohio colleges, Ohio universities, and Ohio businesses to resist any effort to reinstate these tyrannical mandates. We know they don’t work, they should never be done. They are antithetical to American freedom and liberty. Join me in making certain that we make it clear to our elected officials that we will not comply with any movement toward any of these tyrannical mandates ever again,” Moreno said.

According to Moreno, he has fought against these COVID mandates since the very beginning, which are one of the main reasons he decided to run for public office.

“I am committing to you as your next United States senator that I will fight any attempt to have these mandates put into place. Any school that reimposes mask or vaccine mandates should have all of their Federal funding cut. Any corporation that reimposes these mandates on their workers or consumers should be barred from receiving government contracts. Let’s make certain that the left is not given the tool that they want which is universal mail-in balloting which is a result of saying that there is another COVID emergency. We’ve seen this movie twice, we don’t want to see this movie again,” Moreno said.

Moreno said it’s time for Ohio Republicans to draw a line in the sand and show the federal government that they will not comply with these tyrannical mandates.

In April, Moreno first announced his U.S. Senate campaign against Ohio Democratic U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) in 2024.

Republican State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls), who finished third in last year’s primary election, also announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate in 2024. Ohio Republican Secretary of State Frank LaRose is also running.
