Wyoming U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) endorsed Ohio businessman Bernie Moreno for U.S. Senate on Tuesday.
“Bernie Moreno is built for Ohio,” Barrasso said in a statement to German-owned Politico. “His story is Ohio’s story. Hard work, grit, and drive to build a family and a successful small business.”

Moreno responded to Barrasso’s endorsement on X, writing, “Very honored to have the endorsement of GOP conference chair @SenJohnBarrasso.”
“Ohio Republicans know that we must be fully united to defeat @SherrodBrown and the tens of millions of out of State special interest money he will have bankrolling his campaign,” Moreno added.
Last month, as previously reported by The Ohio Star, Moreno earned the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, who called the Senate candidate “exactly the type of MAGA fighter that we need in the United States Senate.”
The former president called on the Republican Party to “unite” around Moreno’s campaign so the GOP “can have a BIG victory in what will be the most important Election in American History.”
Moreno is also endorsed by U.S. Senators JD Vance (R-OH), Roger Marshall (R-KS), Mike Lee (R-UT), and Marco Rubio (R-FL).
In the GOP primary, Moreno is facing State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose. All three Republicans are vying to unseat incumbent Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).
Ohio’s primary election will take place on March 19. Voter registration ends on February 20, with early voting beginning on February 21. The last day to request an absentee ballot is March 12.
The Ohio Republican Party is urging GOP voters in the Buckeye State to participate in the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) Bank Your Vote campaign, which provides voters with voting information and assistance with the voting process.
