U.S. Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno Says Sherrod Brown and Joe Biden’s Economic Policies are ‘Crushing Ohio Workers’

Bernie Moreno, the Republican nominee in the Ohio U.S. Senate race, used Wednesday’s inflation report to call out his opponent, incumbent U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and President Joe Biden for their economic policies that are “crushing Ohio workers.”

This week’s Consumer Price Index data shows year-over-year inflation increased in March by 3.5 percent, which was higher than projected.

“Sherrod Brown, inflation is crushing hard working Ohioans,” Moreno said in a statement after Wednesday’s report was published. “Since Joe Biden took office, gas has increased by 47%, groceries by 21%, electricity by 28%, and rent by 20%, all while wage-growth is stagnant. While jobs for government bureaucrats and foreigners are on the rise, new manufacturing jobs for American citizens are nowhere to be found.”

“It would be nice if Joe Biden and Sherrod Brown cared as much about rebuilding America’s middle-class with good-paying manufacturing jobs, as they do about helping illegal immigrants continue to invade our nation. “It is critical that we take back control of the Senate and White House this November to reverse the disastrous economic and open-border policies put forth by the Biden administration and rubber-stamped by Sherrod Brown,” Moreno added.

For 36 straight months, inflation has been recorded at or above 3 percent, which is above the Federal Reserve’s average target of 2 percent.

Overall, inflation has risen by 19.4 percent since Biden took office.

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley also commented on Wednesday’s report, saying, “Despite Joe Biden’s attempts to gaslight the American people, Bidenomics is a disaster for families across the country, with prices up 19.4 percent since he took office.”

“People are paying more for everything from electricity and groceries to rent while inflation is eating away at wage gains. No one can afford the cost of Biden’s failed economic policies, but relief is on the way when voters elect President Trump on November 5,” Whatley added.
