Ohio Tea Party Group to Give True the Vote’s Engelbrecht the ‘Spirit of Freedom’ Award

Catherine Engelbrecht, who was attacked for trying to ensure the sanctity of elections as a nonprofit, will be honored with the “Spirit of Freedom” award.

Ohio Tea Party group We the People Convention is hosting the convention in Dublin on September 21 to present the award to Engelbrecht.

Ticket information for the event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Embassy Suites, is available here. There are only 300 seats available.

We the People Convention said in a press release that Engelbrecht, her family, her family business and her election integrity non-profit, True the Vote, were attacked by dozens of Obama Administration agencies for making sure only registered voters could vote in elections. In 2014, she testified in front of Congress and said, “I will not Retreat. I will not Surrender. I refuse to be Intimidated.”

True the Vote in June won a nearly 10-year federal court fight with the IRS and other agencies for unfairly targeting them going back to the Lois Lerner scandal, Breitbart said. The group is supposed to receive maximum attorney fees.

Engelbrecht announced her victory on YouTube: “True the Vote has finally — and completely — beaten the IRS. They discriminated against us in and out of court, and now the court has slammed them.”

According to the non-profit’s website, “True the Vote was established in 2009, after a small group of volunteers worked at our local polls and witnessed firsthand both the need for well-trained election workers and blatant, undeniable acts of election fraud. Since then, we’ve continued to grow – and  now we’re a national organization, providing comprehensive, state-specific programs of education, research, and support for volunteers in all 50 states.  We have empowered fellow citizens, increased public awareness, advocated for continued election improvements and reforms, and spoken out about the misleading messaging of those who insist voter fraud does not exist. It does.”
