Newly Elected Ohio State Representative Beth Lear to Champion Protecting Ohio Families and Economic Concerns

A new electee in the Ohio Statehouse, Republican Beth Lear, says she will advocate for Ohio families, protect constitutional rights, address economic concerns, and restore educational integrity upon assuming office.

“I am excited to represent the 61st district. We have a lot of work to do to make Ohio stronger and a leader in the nation. We need to fix our education system and restore an academic foundation. We need to help our businesses by restructuring unemployment, lowering taxes, and downsizing government,” Lear told The Ohio Star Thursday.

Lear secured the state representative position for District 61 during the midterm election with 59 percent of the vote.

A Delaware County native and alumni of Olentangy Schools and Ohio State University, Lear is an Ohio Air National Guard veteran, and education policy analyst who previously worked in the Statehouse. She is also a longtime activist with a track record of fighting for individual liberty, repealing the estate tax, and advocating for better schools .

“Our very way of life is being threatened, and we must fight for our values. We’ll never get our nation back if we don’t take a stand right now,” Lear said.

Lear says she will use her 15 years of knowledge as an education policy expert and prior experience as a charter school board member to restore integrity in education.

The politician pledges to work to return schools to an academic focus – not one of indoctrination – to keep males out of female sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms, and to advocate for parental rights.

“I have always supported the rights of parents to direct the education of their children and have the track record to prove it,” Lear said.

A small business owner with a prior appointment to the Delaware County Port Authority and strong opposition to economy-crushing inflation and government overreach, Lear says she will advocate for energy independence, protect small businesses from government mandates, and work to eliminate excessive regulations and lower taxes.

Lear says that her experience as a veteran, mother, and grandmother motivates her to support local first responders, make adoption easier and more affordable, and protect parents’ rights in education and healthcare.

“I’ve fought big government my entire life; I’ll fight for the unborn, fight for small businesses, family farms, and the Second Amendment,” Lear said.

Lear worked with 25 liberty organizations to protect Ohioans from Obamacare, uncovered the Drag 101 class sponsored by the Delaware County District Library, and worked alongside Senator Andrew Brenner (R-OH) to repeal the prevailing wage.

Lear says she will continue to dedicate her career to fighting for traditional values in the state.

“I hope that my fellow Republicans will work with me to push Ohio into a place where others want to emulate us,” Lear told The Star.
