Black Friday Shopping: Which Stores Are Open?

Black Friday is an annual tradition for Americans. Not only is it the unofficial start of the Christmas season begins but it is also the biggest shopping day in the United States.

This means malls and shops all around America will open up early to a group of eager shoppers waiting to take advantage of their bargain deals. The National Retail Foundation (NRF) expects more than 165 million people will do some type of shopping from Thanksgiving Day to Cyber Monday. On Black Friday alone, NRF predicts that 114.6 people will shop.

In 2018, the average person “spent $313.29 on gifts and other holiday items over the five-day period,” according to NRF. Furthermore, many people are saying no to the long lines and just shopping online. Last year, Americans spent a record $6.2 billion on online shopping deals, the CNBC reports.

For years now, stores have been trying to create new ways for people to do shopping after Thanksgiving. Back in 2011, Walmart broke the trend of stores being closed on Thanksgiving night. Since then many stores have decided to push the start date of their Black Friday sales up further and further.

Thus, it is hard to know when stores are open. Well, here is a list of stores opening tonight or tomorrow morning, according to blackfriday.com. The stores on the Black Friday list are closed on Thanksgiving Day.
