Kim Kardashian West is spreading the word about Kevin Keith, an Ohio inmate serving a life sentence at Marion Correctional Institution for a 1994 triple homicide.
His supporters, however, believe he’s innocent and are in the process of creating a documentary to prove their case.
“I heard about Kevin Keith’s case last year and the more I learn about it, the more I believe the world needs to hear what happened to him. He was on death row and came within days of execution before the governor of Ohio commuted his sentence to life without parole,” Kardashian wrote on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

Keith was arrested in February 1994 for a triple homicide that occurred in Bucyrus, Ohio. He was allegedly never questioned before his arrest and the police lacked the evidence to link him to the crime, his supporters claim. But in May of that same year, he was convicted and sentenced to death.
Ever since, his brother, Charles, has been gathering evidence to prove his innocence and challenging the case through Ohio’s legal system. In 2007, for instance, Charles met with Assistant Ohio Public Defender Rachel Troutman and convinced her to investigate Keith’s case.
By 2010, Troutman had completed her investigation and presented her case to former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, who granted Kevin clemency and took him off death row just 13 days before he was scheduled to be executed.
Kardashian is now helping spread the word about Kevin’s case, and met with him via a video conference Tuesday afternoon.
“I had the pleasure of meeting with Kevin Keith through a video visit and was so impressed with the amazing programs he created in prison to help others inside better themselves,” she wrote on Twitter. “So much evidence has been uncovered proving Kevin’s innocence. I hope justice is served soon and he is released.”

Kardashian has become a vocal advocate for criminal justice reform, and was invited to speak at the White House in June alongside President Donald Trump.
“I’d gotten to the place in my life where I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to do the right thing,” she said during the event. “My hear just completely opened up and I wanted to do more.”
