Senator JD Vance Says ‘Extreme Left’ Needs to do a Lot of ‘Soul Searching’ After Nashville School Shooting

In the wake of the murder of six people at a Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee, by an individual who reportedly “identified as transgender” on Monday, U.S. Senator JD Vance (R-OH) said that the extreme left needs to do a lot of “soul searching.”

According to Vance, this terrible incident should prompt the extreme left to deeply consider the correctness of their ideals.

“We’re still learning about the horrific shooting in Nashville. But if early reports are accurate that a trans shooter targeted a Christian school, there needs to be a lot of soul searching on the extreme left,” Vance said.

Vance’s comments follow 28-year-old Audrey Elizabeth Hale, who “identified as transgender” shooting and killing three nine-year-old students and three adults at the Covenant Presbyterian School in Nashville, Tennessee. Hale used an AR-15-style rifle, an AR-15-style pistol, and a handgun as part of a “targeted attack.” According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Hale was a former student at the school. Police killed Hale on the scene Monday morning.

According to Vance, accepting the extreme left’s backing of transgender ideas is dangerous, as showcased in this incident.

“Giving into these ideas isn’t compassion, it’s dangerous,” Vance said.

Vance said that if the elite doesn’t stop showing support for this behavior, more children will be killed.

“Everyone who comments on this issue is aware of the militant, sometimes violent rhetoric of these activists. It’s time for our elites to stop encouraging this stuff, or they’re going to get more kids killed,” Vance said.

Vance also urged the nation to pray for every child killed in Monday’s shooting and for their families.

“In the meantime, say a prayer for every kid who lost their life and every parent mourning a child. Christ have mercy,” Vance said.

Butler County native and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also commented that the nation supports the U.S. Department of Education, which doesn’t shield children in our classrooms from being murdered by the radical gender ideologies it funds.

“We spend $80BN+ per year through the U.S. Dept of Education that helps fund radical gender ideology to create psychopaths, yet don’t protect kids in our schools from being killed by them. That’s wrong. I’ll shut down the U.S. Dept of Education and use the savings to protect every kid in America from something like this from ever happening again. This shouldn’t be controversial,” Ramaswamy said.
