Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown’s #MeToo problems hit prime-time television Tuesday night as both Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity featured spots on his “ugly” 1986 divorce in which he was accused of physically abusing his former wife.
Hannity compared the Democrats dismissal of the allegations against Brown to their eagerness to publicly grill Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. He called it “selective moral outrage.”
On Tucker Carlson Tonight, Fox News reporter Trace Gallagher acknowledged that the accusations have been brought up before by Brown’s political opponents.
“But it is the first time they have been raised in the age of #Metoo,” Gallagher said. “In fact the website running this 60-second ad is called Me Too Ohio.”
Me Too Ohio launched the ad campaign last week about Brown’s 1986 divorce papers, which include accusations from his former wife Larke Reechie that he physically abused her.

Me Too Ohio is a Super PAC connected to a GOP political firm that has done work for the Senate campaign of Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH-16), who is running against Brown’s for the Senate.
Renacci denies having anything to do with the video ad, but did issue the following statement:
Violence against women in any form is not acceptable and has no place in our society. Sherrod Brown’s well-documented history of domestic violence is deeply troubling.”
Later in the evening Sean Hannity took up the same issue on his show. Hannity delved into the Democrats’ “selective moral outrage” when it comes to crimes against women.
Brown is not the only Democrat being let off the hook for allegedly abusing women. Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) has had multiple women come forward with detailed allegations of sexual abuse. He is deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee and is running for attorney general in Minnesota, so far without being held accountable. Hannity said the list starts with Bill Clinton, who was accused of rape by Juanita Broaddrick.
But when it comes to Judge Kavanaugh, he said the Democrats are quick to exhibit “selective moral outrage, rushing to judgment, no presumption of innocence. People are smart; they know what is going on. Every American deserves this all-American principle of presumption of innocence.”

The Ohio Star was first to report the “selective outrage” of Democrats with regard to abusive men, with a report Monday here.
Brown’s ex wife now defends him and denounced the Me Too Ohio ad, but there is no question that in 1986 she was afraid of Brown and felt threatened by him. Why else would she have filed for and been granted a temporary restraining order?
“The facts speak for themselves,” Hannity said.
According to records on file at the Franklin County Common Pleas Court, Recchie alleged in her divorce complaint that Brown “has been guilty of gross neglect of duty and extreme cruelty.”
Recchie sought a restraining order against Brown to keep him from “doing bodily harm” to her. Recchie claimed to be “in fear for the safety and well-being of myself and our children due to [Brown’s] physical violence and abusive nature” and said Brown “intimidated, pushed, shoved and bullied” her on multiple occasions.
A judge granted a seven-count restraining order against Brown. Recchie would later accused Brown of violating the order and said he “pushed me up against the wall with his arms in order to pass and entered the house.”
